The most important thing to remember when trying to reach your fitness goals is to be consistent. Your consistency will pay off in time. You should make sure to work out four to five days a week for at least 30 minutes each session.

One easy tip is to schedule your workouts, such as Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 12:00 p.m. (during your lunch break). Think of it as an important appointment with yourself that you can’t skip. It will be tough the first two to three weeks, but after that, you’ll get used to working out consistently and it will feel weird not to.

However, you also need to be consistent with your healthy eating. This doesn’t mean you have to be perfect 100% of the time, but you will need to stay on top of it. Think of it as the 90/10 rule. Most people say 80/20, but when you are really trying to hit those goals, you need to be on top of your healthy eating 90% of the time. It’s okay to allow yourself one cheat meal a week but really focus on only a cheat meal and not an entire day.

If you change your habits and follow these tips, you will lose weight and even keep it off. Remember that being healthy is about the journey and not the destination.
