4 Ways to Drink More Water
by Haley Cooke | March, 18, 2021
If you are working on being better about drinking your water, try out these 4 simple steps to increase your daily water intake!
PLAN – Have a bottle of water ready to drink from when you wake up. Drink at least 8 oz of water in the morning before starting your day. Set an alarm to remind yourself to drink up! Purchase a bottle of water that tracks the progress of your water intake throughout the day.
FLAVOR – Add a squeeze of your favorite fruit to enhance the taste of the water. If you are in the home office, check the main work cafe for at least 4 options there! Add some mint or an essential oil that is meant for digesting. Check out your options of an infuser water bottle to add berries and be able to catch the seeds!
TEMPERATURE – Try different temperatures of water to see what you like best. Some like it hot, some like it cold! 🙂
TEXTURE – Do you like sparkling water? Another option is carbonated water. As a tip: pay attention to the sugar in both of these options.
YOU CAN DO IT! Let me know which simple step works best for you!
I have also found some good sugar free flavoring for when I need something extra. AND, if you mix then in sparkling mineral water, it just like drinking a soda!
Thanks Haley, I love the blogs!
I use an app on my phone called Plant Nanny. Each time I drink 6 ounces, I get to water my virtual plant. It also reminds me to drink every 2 hours. It’s a helpful gamification for me. Also, I love my DIG water bottle because it’s just the right height to drink hands free at my desk while I work!
These are great tips! A few years ago, I received a Yeti as a gift and started using it to drink water at my desk. I found this encouraged me to drink more water. When its empty, I go to the water dispenser to fill it up which helps me to get up and move around throughout the day. Knocking out two of my daily goals!
This is one area I really need to work on! I don’t mind drinking water at all, it’s just a matter of feeling so full from drinking so much of it! It will be training my body to handle more…slowly but surely!! I’m working on it! I’m logging it this week, to see how I’m doing. 🙂
