Let’s make your own Granola!
Looking for an easy to make and healthy snack? Something to throw on your parfait or just eat by itself?
I present to you…..the easiest granola you could possibly make! I hope you will give it a try!
Ingredients:
3 cups of rolled oats
1 cup raw almonds, chopped
1/2 cup raw honey
2 teaspoons melted coconut oil
1 tablespoon cinnamon (or more)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional variations: Dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, coconut)
Different chopped nuts
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the rolled oats and the almonds in a glass baking dish and toast them in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, stir occasionally.
While the oats are toasting, combine the remaining ingredients.
After the oats are toasted, drizzle the honey mixture over the oats. Stir until well combined.
On a baking sheet lined with wax paper form a single layer of the oat mixture.
Place the baking sheet back in the oven and turn the oven OFF. This will allow the granola to finish toasting without burning. Let it sit in the oven for 5-8 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before removing or eating.
I LOVE granola!! Always need a little something extra to put on my yogurt 🙂
Will the honey allow for it to stick together? That is, can you form it into bars so it is easier to eat? I might try this recipe. Thanks, Haley.
It is definitely worth a shot Matt! Try it with more honey… currently this amount of honey will only give flavor to the pieces.
Haley, this looks tasty. Is there a printable for it?
I can sure print you a copy 🙂 I will bring it by!
I love granola recipes and feel this is a good healthy snack for the grandkids. If anyone wants a copy just let me know and I can email it to them. I have saved it in my recipes folder. Thank you Haley for always sending us something good and interesting.
Like I need an excuse to eat more honey….
This look’s ahhhmazing and I am always looking for a way to jazz up my yogurt! Thanks for the recipe!
Thank you! This is exactly the recipe outline I have been needing to make a salad topper!
