This week we are featuring another employee – Klayton O’Neal! Klayton works in DIG Dev as an OnBase Developer and has been with the company for 1.5 years!  Read through what he had to say about his current wellness journey in our question and answer session.

What is your motivation in your wellness journey?

My motivations for my wellness journey is to look good for my wife and myself, to have more functional strength, and to live a longer, healthier life for my family.

What is your weekly exercise routine?

My weekly exercise routine consists of a morning body weight and cardio workout and a lunchtime weightlifting session. I workout 6 days a week and typically rest on the 7th day with a short walk or something casual.

What has been the best part of this journey?

The best part of this journey has been forming a good habit. In the past I’ve had a hard time staying consistent with working out, so staying consistent with this has been a huge thing for me.

What do you find is a daily struggle?

A daily struggle is eating right. For my whole life I’ve been a relatively picky eater. Until I was 20 or so I pretty much ate 4-5 foods. The past few years or so I’ve branched out significantly but I still have ways to go.

What is your favorite part about exercise?

I love feeling myself improve. Feeling that struggle in my muscles is a good way for me to subconsciously feel improvement.

Where are you currently seeing success?

I am currently seeing success across the board. I am eating better, I’m working out 6 days a week like I plan. I’m seeing my body fat percentage go down and myself get stronger.

What are you the most proud of?

I’m most proud of staying consistent. I know that the key thing to reaching my goals is to stay consistent and, eventually, I’ll get there.

If someone wanted to start their own journey – how would you encourage them?

I would encourage them to set their own goal. Figure out where you want to be in terms of your health and wellness and start working towards it. Do your best to not compare your goal to someone else’s goal. Everyone has their own journey and everyone will get there when they get there.
